I have finally finished my magazine I got it finished last Friday. I have done my construction I just need to get my Evaluation done, uploaded to blogger and then I can move on.

Yesterday my teacher read through my article and made the corrections. I have know wrote out my article on my double page spread. What I like about my Double page is that my writing goes round the arm of the image that is in the centre of the double page spread. It makes my magazine look like a real magazine. I have got the list of my contents I just need to write it out on the contents page. I have finished my front cover.

I have written out my article and my teacher has checked it and made the corrections. I’ve put the article into the double page article and it’s looking good. My double page article is done now all I have to do is completely finish my front cover and contents page. Then I have completely finished my magazine and all that would be left to do is the Evaluation.

We were thinking as a group to make a logo for our magazine. This way you would be able to tell that each edition is from the same magazine. Our logo was going to be a Jazz microphone we took a picture of it as well. But then we didn’t put up the logo because one of the other magazines had completely different editions to each other, however you could still tell they were from the same magazine because they kept the same house style through out the magazine. They just rearranged the colours in each edition. We wanted our magazine to be similar, but we had already kept most of the conventions the same like the background and the layout we didn’t want our magazines to be exactly the same. So we didn’t put a logo on our magazines.

I have started to write out my article, after I have wrote my article I will hand it in to the teacher so she can check it and make any corrections. My article is about Alex a new Jappop singer, and what she has to offer for 2010. Alex is a newcomer and has had a massive response from her single ‘seasons change from winter to spring’

To make all our editions look like they are from the same magazine, we are going to give the main image on the contents page an outer glow. My edition will have a mint green glow to match with the shadow of the title. The other editions have also done the same thing they have matched the glow with the shadow of their title. I had to change my glow a few times because it wasn’t matching with my group, sometimes it would get too dark and look like an outline rather than a glow. Other times the glow would be too fat, I have now finally finished the glow around my picture and it matches with my groups.
I have started to put my magazine all together and it’s looking good. I’ve edited and put in the images on the front cover and double page. The background through the whole magazine is black this makes the mint green title stand out, attracting the audience. Also on the front cover I have added a bottom strip and a slogan. On the Double page article I have put in the lyrics column and I’ve don’t the title, all I have to do for the double page is write out an article. After that I will start to work on the contents page, I have chosen the image for the contents page. I really like this image because it has good expressions. The image is a high angle shot and in the image the girl is looking upwards which makes it look like she is looking at the reader. This gives it a realistic effect.

So that all our issues look like they're from the same magazine we are keeping the slogan and some of the other conventions the same. For example on all the front covers there is a black background, a bottom strip, and the same title just a different background shade. Also on the double page article all the issues will have a lyrics column on the left handside. By doing this hopefully all our issues will look like they're from the same magazine. So that if put on a shelf in a shop next to other magazine's no one would suspect it's not a real magazine.

We want our magazine to be different form the rest because we are introducing a new genre of music (Jappop). Therefore we wanted our magazine to be different from the rest and we are going to do that by adding a lyrics column. The lyrics column will have the hit Jappop songs of that month. If we are going to make a lyrics column we will have to make the songs up ourselves. We have an idea, which is to make the songs according to the month. For example in Decembers issue we can have a song related to Christmas, and for February’s issue we can have a song about Valentines Day. The lyrics column is going to be on the left side of the Double page spread.

These are the big four main music institutions in the industry.

As a group we have done some research for our magazine. The genre of our magazine is Japop which is a mixture of jazz and pop. We have given out questionnaires so we what to do for our magazine. For example we will know what colour the audience will be most attracted to, using results like this we will decide on how to construct our magazine. We will also be relating our magazine to existing Jazz and Pop magazines so the audience is able to see and tell what genre our magazine is. At the moment I am making a PowerPoint presentation on the different music institutions.

In our group we are all doing different editions for the magazine, each edition will be based on different months. The four months we have chosen are November, December, January and Feburary. We have chosen these months in particular because in November's edition we can include something about bombfire night. In Decembers edition we will do a christmas special. January's edition will have new something for the New year, and lastly Feburary's edition will be related to Valentines day. As a group we have decided who will be doing each edition. At the moment I am doing a PowerPoint on music tribes.
